Sophie Coffin Conquers the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim
We are incredibly proud to have sponsored Sophie Coffin in her first solo swim for the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim, a personal challenge she set for herself. Sophie completed the 19.7km swim in 7 hours and 28 minutes, demonstrating resilience, determination, and the power of goal setting.
Sophie is a powerful leader, advocate, and role model for young Indigenous people. A proud Palyku and Ngangumarta woman with ties to Yindjibarndi Country, she is making a lasting impact in her work as a Solicitor at Bennett Litigation and Commercial Law and as a Board Director at Glass Jar Australia, Yawarda Services Ltd, and Tambourah.
Her leadership speaks volumes:
Emerging Lawyer of the Year for her work advocating for the Voice to Parliament in WA
WA Youth Representative of the Uluru Statement from the Heart
Miss NAIDOC Perth winner (2018)
Alumna of the US Department of State’s International Visitors’ Leadership Program
Sophie’s dedication to Indigenous education, leadership, and advocacy is nothing short of inspiring. Whether in law, governance, or community work, she leads with grit, perseverance, and a deep commitment to making a difference.
Congratulations Sophie! We are honoured to stand beside you, support your journey, and celebrate your achievements 🖤💛❤️
Celebrating Success at the “Get Better” Sporting Events in Hedland
Nih Kaartdijin Mia’s “Get Better” Sporting Events were a resounding success, bringing together the Hedland community to promote mental health and well-being. Held on the 4th and 7th of October, the SLAM event at JD Hardie and the football match at Kevin Scott Oval were filled with energy, connection, and inspiring conversations about the importance of mental health.
A special highlight of the event was the support from Yilkari Cranes, who proudly sponsored West Australian footballer Liam Ryan. Liam’s presence at the event was a powerful reminder of the positive influence athletes can have on mental health awareness, and he connected with local participants to share his own experiences and challenges.
The event showcased the strength of local partnerships, helping to create a safe and supportive environment for all. Yilkari Cranes are proud to have been apart of this fantastic initiative.
